The Church had been decorated with beautiful floral arrangements for a Wedding today

And they went to the tomb where Jesus lay and it was empty. Jesus showed His wounds to those who did not believe so that they would know He had risen from the dead.

Another year where the parishioners were greeted by beautiful floral displays as they entered the Church for the Easter Sunday Mass

This shows the studs that form the cross on the candle. The studs are officially known as Brass Incense Grains as each one contains a small amount of incense. There are five of them, representing the five wounds of Jesus, two in His hands, two in His feet, and one in His side where He was stabbed with a spear.

The Last Supper

On this day we remember the Last Supper where Jesus washed the feet of his Disciples. Some of the Congregation have their feet washed by the Priest. Later that evening Jesus was arrested

Palm Crosses


Sunday 24th March
Palm Sunday

Crosses made from Palm leaves were distributed and blessed at the start of the Mass to remind us of the Palm leaves that were used to cover the ground for Jesus to ride over on a donkey as he entered Jerusalem at the start of a week that culminated in his death on a wooden cross and his subsequent resurection.

Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglio from Argentina has been elected to be our Pope and he chose the name Francis

His first words were :-

Brothers and sisters, good evening!

You know that it was the duty of the Conclave to give Rome a Bishop. It seems that my brother Cardinals have gone to the ends of the earth to get one...
