Born 13 February 1947, Boldon Colliery, County Durham and Baptised in S Nicholas church, West Boldon

Trained for the Anglican Ministry at Chichester Theological College and Southampton University

Ordained Anglican Deacon York Minster on 26 September 1976 and joined the Anglican Religious Congregation of the Company of Mission Priests

Ordained Anglican Priest York Minster Michaelmass Day (29 Sept) 1977

Received into full Communion with the Catholic Church in S Beuno's in North Wales (in the same chapel where Gerard Manley Hopkins had been Ordained to the Priesthood) on December 21 (Old S Thomas' Day) 1983

Ordained Deacon by Bishop Thomas Mc Mahon of Brentwood in the Chapel of the Seminary at Wonersh near Guildford on Nov 30 1985 S Andrew's Day

Ordained Priest by Bishop Augustine Harris in S Aelred's York on Saturday 31 May 1986 (The Feast of the Visitation of our Lady)

Served at S Aelred's and S Peter's Scarborough before being made Catholic Chaplain to Hull University

Father Norman left Northallerton in August 2007 to return to Hull

From 2007-2008 Father Norman was Administrator of St Anthony's Hull

He was Parish Priest at St Anthony's & Our Lady, Hull from 2008 to 2014

Father Norman lost his long struggle with illness on Friday 7th November 2014 - He will be missed by many. Fr Norman was received into St Anthony's on Beverley Road, Hull, HU6 7JJ at 6.30 pm on Monday 17th. On Tuesday 18th, he was moved to St Charles Borromeo Church, 12 Jarratt Street, Hull, HU1 3HB, where there was a Requiem Mass at 12.10pm presided over by the Bishop of Middlesbrough and attended by many of his fellow priests. Following the Requiem Mass there was a small gathering at the Crematorium (Chanterlands Avenue, Hull, HU5 4EF) and finally a reception at the Endsleigh Centre (481 Beverly Road, Hull, HU6 7LH).
